Construction of a new bar for the Big Grove Tavern (formerly Jim Gould's) in downtown Champaign IL. Below is a picture of the old bar.
Here we have the construction of the supporting wall for the new bar, attached to a section of the old bar.
Next is the attachment of 3/4" oak ply to the face of the new bar.
Now comes the installation of the solid Red Oak bartop. The joinery was designed to be tongue and groove with a Serpentine shape.
Continued installation of the bartop.
Arm rail and foot rest sub-structure attached.
